Autumn Concert 2024: Wagner ‘Prelude and Liebestod’ and Mahler Symphony no.1

We were delighted to welcome Nicholas Nowicki to conduct his first public concert with us, and what a cracking concert it was.   We had possibly the biggest Cleveland Phil ever, with over 80 players performing Mahler’s massive first symphony.  Thank you for the lovely Facebook comments from audience members, we are so glad you enjoyed it.  We did too!

Spring Concert 2024: Vaughan Williams 5 and Shostakovich 5

We had a wonderful time playing these two contrasting symphonies with David Greed directing.  Both were enthusiastically received by our friendly audience!

 

October Concert 2023: Smetana, Dvorak and Sibelius

Ian Denley conducted us in the famous depiction of a river from source to sea in ‘Vltava’, ‘The Noon Witch’ by Dvorak and Symphony no. 1  by Sibelius,

Spring Concert 2023: Beethoven 5 and Tchaikovsky 4

David Greed conducted this exciting evening concert, and we were delighted to welcome a large and enthusiastic audience.  We look forward to seeing you all again next season!

October Concert 2022: Borodin, Bizet and Schumann

Ian Denley conducted this lovely programme including the famous Carmen suites by Bizet.  We were made very welcome at St Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough – our venue for this season.

Society for Animation Studies Conference, 30th June 2022

We were delighted to welcome conductor Nick Nowicki for the first time, conducing a fabulous programme of cartoon classics from the Sorcerer’s Apprentice to the Simpsons.     A great time was had by orchestra and audience alike!
